TV presenter Jonnie Irwin reveals terminal cancer diagnosis

The father-of-three, who presents Channel 4's A Place In The Sun and the BBC's Escape To The Country, was initially diagnosed with lung cancer back in 2020 and told he had just six months to live.

This is exactly the type of issue that makes me realise football is really insignificant and our tribal pettiness is just that when compared to anyone going through such tragedy.

I would rather Jonnie made a full recovery than Leeds be relegated. In fact I’d rather Leeds win the PL forever more, than any family face the trauma of terminal illness through a disease such as cancer.
