Joseph Patrick Lumley

Since spurs the lad hasn't looked back. He's been very good and it's obvious he's in a confident mood at the moment, if he carries on like this there will be a lot of people with egg on their dishes.
People were critical when he was poor and making mistakes. Including me. It was nothing personal and I want him to do well. I’m a Boro fan. Why would I want him making mistakes? I have no desire to be proven right. It was just my opinion.

I hope he continues to improve.

It doesn’t mean I was wrong at the time.

Well said. The board is pathetic at times for threads like this one. Lumley was an absolute car crash for a good few weeks and people were well within their rights to point it out. Even Wilder said he had criticised him and told him he needed to improve. Yes you get the odd idiot who appear to enjoy peppering the “boo boy”, but 99% of those who criticised his performances would be delighted to see him turn it around.

I kept going on where I sit in the North stand that he is a very good **** stopper. I have never been sure about the goalkeeper being the centre midfield holding player.

No fishing Col, Lumley has been the subject of a lot of hammerings on here.

And as has already been pointed out he was rightly criticised, what was the word you used, pish 😁. Wilder stated he was openly criticised within the changing room by the squad too. I am chuffed he has had some good games, he needs to be consistent. I said he was the main reason we came away with a point today.

Yes after the first half against West brom but that wasn't just directed at Lumley it was balogun and connolly aswell who I've also defended and think they are good players. All 3 have been slagged off pretty hard on here which does nobody any good.

I posted on another thread that he has had another good match and long may that continue. He was poor, very poor earlier, but credit where it is due he has improved his performances considerably.
I guess you're another with egg on your face....🥚

I’ve backed him all season. Had a couple dodgy moments but what keeper at this level doesn’t? He’s transitioned from a keeper playing under Warnock hoofing it long all the time to playing out from the back with Wilder, there was always going to be a hiccup or two along the way.

100% hopefully he's our number 1 nect season aswell
