Cardiff City, Middlesbrough and Stoke City are all interested in signing Josh Windass from Sheffield Wednesday in the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old has frustrated fans this season but he has undoubtedly been one of the Owls’ better performers in what has been a campaign to forget so far.

Windass has hit nine goals and registered five assists in 39 Championship games, so Wednesday know they face a battle to keep hold of the attacker, particularly if they go down.

And, Championship clubs are believed to be circling already, with Football Insider claiming that the Bluebirds, Boro and the Potters are all keeping tabs on the former Rangers man.

Similar managers and styles. They did alright getting Kiefer Moore.

I'd have Windass and Reach. You'd say getting both for nothing would be great business.

While probably requiring a fee, Barry Bannan might even be available too. Noticed he came over for a wee chat with NW at full-time. He regularly excels at #10!

Seriously. I saw his name on the teamsheet at the weekend and thought I'd googling him to see if he was Dean's son, expecting some 17 year old foetus. 27! Only seems like yesterday big Deano was rumbling around up top for us.

Was a good player for us Dean Windass. One of those guys like Benito Carbone you forget ever played for us but he had some cracking games from memory.

Bannan? He's an 8 not a 10. He's never been a 10

Excellent footballer, but I just worry about his age, (if we sign him he'll be 32 with 4 months of signing) and if he can do the off the ball work needed in a Warnock side? No doubt he can do the on the ball bit.

Very much a chip of the old block too. He's solid, committed, and can play a bit, without ever being a showpony. If Warnock thinks we've been too nice, not physically intimidating enough then Dhiediou and Windass will change that, and bruise up the opposition.
 
Ha! If memory serves they played together, right?

Was certainly an, er, unusual mix of talents up top for us around that period with Alen Boksic, Benito Carbone, Dean Windass and Noel Whelan.

Talented , but the fact he has been out injured and only played 117 minutes this season means he is a risk, I doubt CW will fill a squad place with another injury prone player.
We need better than we already have to improve, Uche sold Andy Coburn out on loan is my feeling, with Balogun And .another to come in.
