The problem with VAR is it completely focuses on the letter of the law, rather than the spirit of the law.

So they don't overturn incredibly bad decisions like this one, because technically the goalies hand brushes against Jotas leg, but they will spend eight minutes deciding whether someone is literally one inch offside and gaining absolutely no advantage whatsoever.
 
No Pen for me.
May have been slight contact but keeper was trying to avoid that
Jota takes a step then crumbles to the floor - sadly, no surprise
