Ian Curtis didn't fancy that gig, but what if?
didn't mean it that way. I have great respect and sympathy for Ian Curtis.thats a very poor comment about Ian Curtis.
Maybe not in California but central steel belt and East coast they would have gone down well and had a lot of empathy.Love Joy Division, but not sure the music would have travelled well.
Music was pretty deep for young people and videos of the inside derelict factories in Manchester probably would not work well in California.
Even in the UK - Joy Division were a bit off centre loved by John Peel late night radio audiences, but not typical TOTP/Chart stuff.
Even in CA they'd have been picked up by college radio and probably become a cult band.Maybe not in California but central steel belt and East coast they would have gone down well and had a lot of empathy.
