Have always thought it’s probably the physical side of the game where Coulson is lacking, tends to panic under pressure…..remember him coming on and giving a daft penalty away v Norwich season before last.

Based on what? how can you say Coulson has been better for us? he has been out on two failed loans and is playing for a new contract somewhere else as Wilders says he can go. I have always wanted Coulson to come good but its not happened and two games against very low opposition are not what you should be making judgement on.

Coulson has played 49 games for us, he has 1 goal and 2 assists.
In his 78 total senior games, he has 1 goal and 3 assists.
He has never been effective in an attacking sense, and he's almost always been very poor at defending.

If he was someone we bought from Scunthorpe at 18 for 300k, 100% of fans would expect and be happy that he is leaving. He's nowhere near the level we need, probably league Two level at the moment. He's never shown anything that makes me think this lads got it.
Even his supposed good spell, really wasn't anything other than mediocre.

I think the only "young" player who will be in around the squad will be Coburn and even he could leave on loan if we get the three strikers required.
Dodds, hackney, gleeson, finch, bilongo, kav, Gibson will all be u23 players.
Still 8-9 players to come into the squad for me.

No I agree. We were never going to overcome the twin issues of quality and quantity in one window.
Poor recruitment previously has left us with a squad below par in terms of quality but also (criminally) not even with sufficient cover in each position.
I think we'll probably get one more CD, a rwb cover and two strikers and then pray for no more injuries.

It was only the second pre season friendly I wouldn't be deciding on who should be starting v WBA or who should be sold based on 45 minute run outs....

Coulson hasn't had the opportunity to play on the left side in Wilder's formation, which for me is his suited position. He's very quick so him and Jones either side would cause teams all sorts of problems. Obviously Giles has been brought in to take that LWB spot but Coulson would be good backup. Bola is a left back, not a left wing back. Coulson has a much better engine to get up and down the flank.
