Just watched the road to Wembley 97 video and you forget....

Just how bloody good Juninho was.
His touch, his passing, his link up play, his control, his vision, his finishing etc etc. The list could just go on and on.
On the negative side you also forget how painful that season was too.
The rollercoaster that is MFC.
Who else is coming through the door before next Wensda?
A striker?

If I get any snippets of info Roofie they'll be straight on here.
Always a risk posting info but I'd rather take the chance than not. The info is generally bang on the money.

At the risk of being burned as a heretic, I didn't think his finishing was great (ok, it looks great on the goals he scored).

However, I don't think he gets enough credit for prosaic qualities such as tenacity, work rate and determination. Not all players with his skills have those.

He was just brilliant to watch and i'm sure he loved being here (he came back twice after all!). Apart from maybe Emerson in his first few games i've never seen another Middlesbrough player come close to TLF.

I sometimes feel guilty that he spent so much of his career with us with only the League Cup to show for it (domestically) when he could have joined one of the bigger clubs (Arsenal were very interested when we signed him) and potentially have had a sack full of medals and trophies.

I've never forgotten how good he was.
A joy to watch. He could things no other player could.
Just wish my son was born a lot earlier so he could have seen him play.

I didn't mean truly forget Northumberland, I guess as fans back then we just took him for granted, when in truth we were blessed to have him.
The biggest compliment came from my dearly departed dad who said he was better than Mannion. I couldn't comment on that one as I never saw Mannion play. He must have also been some player as well.

Was London big enough to accommodate him and Zola?

He was something else.

The crowds anticipation every time he broke out with the ball.

Very lucky to have been to all of those games…

Even now I think ( through my Boro tinted glasses ) when people ( rightly) fawn over Messi's balance , close control and dribbling ability despite surrounded by giant athletes..
" I saw someone else do that , and he didn't have to play with Steve Vickers and Phil Whelan "

Was an absolutely incredible talent that I was very fortunate to have the pleasure of watching play for my football team the GOAT in my lifetime in a Boro shirt
