Keir Starmer

It looks like Starmer will have at least 7 resignations tonight from the front bench

Jess Phillips and Kim Leadbeater are expected to resign later

When was that ceasefire agreed and who were the signatories?
I know you know the answer, there was a stoppage of fire, you don’t have to have a signatory for one. Do you think Starmer or Biden will get Hamas to sign one Shortly, It is the antonym of open fire (you know, what Hamas did on 7/10

So there wasn't a ceasefire?

So Hamas didn't end a ceasefire.

Words matter.

Nobody was firing and slaughtering and on the 7th day Hamas chose to end the past cessation. Actions matter ! There are two parties involved the one that started it knew the likely consequences. Innocent Israelis and Europeans didn’t deserve what Hamas served up. Israel as I have repeatedly said through Netanyahu look to have broken international law and deserve to be answerable for their actions. The problem with you is you are myopic and look at snippets, the bigger picture matters as do the innocent people of the world. It is a crying shame terror groups use people as human shields to create a narrative deliberately, it is sad that leaders around the world wont lead reasonably. But how do you negotiate with a terrorist group that wants each and every person in Israel eradicated? You have no solution, there isn’t one that Iran will accept and all its funded terror groups.. Palestine and Israel are both victims of a wider problem sadly, yes one has way more firepower and lacks self control, but if you keep prodding a dog, it will eventually snap. It is a problem that will keep going round in circles till human kind finally gets around to destroying itself.

Tell me, what should Israel have done after the 7th, sent a stern letter to Hamas? What they have done is sickening, but Hamas knew what would happen and Iran don’t give two hoots about the Palestinian people (IMHO).

Absolutely F***ing idiocy from Starmer.

Honestly baffled at this, Labour shooting themselves in the foot over something that is almost entirely symbolic and not going to amount to anything.

He should have just given a free vote on it, because it's not passing anyway, but he's damaged the party by digging his heels in.

In the 70s and 80s the IRA murdered hundreds of people in their mainland bombing campaign. Did the British government react by bombing Catholic areas of Belfast to rubble?
