Why would you put money on Norwich Preston,Swansea they have no chance of the play offs never mind promotion

Yeah, we were one of the favourites.
Burnley and Sheff Utd were also 9-1, as were WBA.
Coventry & Luton 25-1
Sunderland 40-1

Top two were:
Norwich 9-2
Watford 6-1
 
13/8 = 1.62

For every £1 bet a winning bet @ 13/8 pays £1.62 plus stake back.

In percentage terms it equates to about a 38% chance.

I believe those were odds for winning the Championship, opposed to promotion. If they were the start of season odds.

I laid us (bet against) for promotion @ 3.85 on July 27th on Betfair (2.85/1) - I thought the market was too optimistic on our chances in July. I thought Norwich, Watford, Burnley, WBA and Sheff United would probably finish above us.

On the 14th November I placed a bet for us to be promoted @ 8/1 after Carrick's first few games in charge. I thought we had a chance despite been near the relegation zone.

2nd favourites after Sheffield United obviously, but the odds will pay an absolutely miniscule return on them.
Obviously with Burnley they're already up so they're not even in the market.
