Latte Lath into double figures

Josh is 21 was only playing in the lower league last year so was never supposed to be our focal point this year but he has 5 goals in 21 in an injury ravaged season, when he has played the team has performed really well, he has given some good defenders a really hard time, Leicester at home and Southampton come to mind, he has had to feed of scraps and initially in September/ October was looking really strong the problem is he has been playing with an injury since which has really disrupted his game, he will however in my opinion have a really good career a championship level as he has all the attributes.
He won’t be playing for a team with aspirations for a top six finish (Josh)

I am a fan of lath and his goals speak volumes but here is something I have noticed about him. He seems to disappear for long periods in games, and I mean like 30 minutes or so.

If you are at the game I am sure he is actively finding space and making runs but it's off camera and if the ball doesn't come to him us ifollowers wouldn't know

He does an awful lot of running off the ball. I suspect he paces himself

He is very active making runs and also covering back all game
Maybe we need to be working to get the ball to him more of the game.
But then again if he keeps on scoring no one is complaining and his song will continue to be no.1 in the Boro matchday charts.

If he gets to 15 league goals, that’ll make it two seasons on the bounce we’ve had a striker score 15+.

When was the last time we had consecutive seasons of strikers scoring that many? Unless I’m missing the obvious, you’d have to go back to the likes of Hasselbaink, Viduka, Yakubu etc wouldn’t you?

Michael Carrick certainly knows how to get goals from his striker.

Is it 7 goals in the last 9 games? probably would have been 8 if he had taken the pen against Sheff Wed. Some difficult games in that run too.

I had him in a double yesterday First Goalscorer and Boro to win - 18/1 - not quite.

I really like him and I've made no secret of that. Loads of pace, a hard worker and his finishing is improving.

Only one criticism from me, he doesn't have a single assist this season so that's one area he must improve on.

Why does he need assists to his name? He’s the one putting them away.

He probably should have had an assist yesterday. Not sure how Jones missed that chance. Even though the keeper made a good save, he should still be burying that.

Just my opinion but assists as well as goals would show him to be more of a complete striker. He's the only player in the goalscoring chart without an assist.

But that's my only criticism. I thought I'd made that clear.

You did make that clear, he deploys as a lone striker who relies on pace and getting in behind, he also scores a lot from crosses. I don’t believe he’s the type of football who will get many assists, even though he should have got one yesterday.
