As is tradition on these auspicious days, what’s your favourite / most exciting Boro deadline day scoops?

1: Gaizka Mendieta - £50m midfielder from Barcelona, 8th in the Ballon D’Or, UEFA Midfielder of the Year - on a free

2: Robson’s triple swoop of strikers - Branca, Armstrong and a cheeky Ricard for the hattrick

3: Jonathan Woodgate, Real Madrid to Middlesbrough, loan to permanent - return of the 👑
 
Carl Saunders signed by Lennie on loan from Bristol Rovers in the March of 1993. There’s still some ambiguity around whether the deal actually happened or not, given that he never played a single minute for us.

But I’m almost certain him and another deadline day signing(can’t remember who it was) were on the front cover of the matchday programme for the next home game.

I remember the Britt transfer window being a big one, but can’t remember if they all came on deadline day. There’s been a few huge ones.

Youve got a good memory, I think I can recall that programme cover, was it the CF from Plymouth, Dwight Marshall, he made 3 appearences as a sub, Nos12 & 14, remember one of wearing white trainers too
 
I have no recollection of any particular deadline day.

I remember certain transfers down the years, such as Juninho, Ravenelli, Mendietta, Geremi, Zenden, Viduka, JFH. Willo Flood etc.

I haven't got a clue whether they were deadline days or not though.
 
10 mill on Rhodes! And then you just knew we were going up. We haven't showed the same ambition since. Tick tock.....
