Lethal Hull striker injured

Hmmm, they were both VERY jammy strikes in fairness to young Craig.
Unless you’re going to preface every deflected goal with that then it’s just an absolutely stupid thing to say. “Akpom scored 27 goals, two of them heavily deflected,” is something you will never see in an article.

The distinction is being made because he had a terrible time with us. Two goals in 23 appearances is very poor form, regardless of whether they were both deflected or both smashed in from 35 yards. You don’t need to add anything to make his record any worse, it speaks for itself.

Well I think its just emphasising that although he scored two goals, both were actually really rubbish goals. I don't have an issue with it in this instance. Sometimes a bit of context IS required.

"Maradona scored two goals v England in the quarter final: one a blatant handball in which he punched the ball over a daydreaming goalkeeper whose mind was clearly on Britain's membership of the European Union, another after dribbling the ball from his own half, largely unchallenged after the referee refused to give a foul for the most obvious act of assault on a football pitch known to man." :D

I'm genuinely slightly relieved he's injured.

He got such constant abuse here that I expect he'd have been desperate to score against us.

It'd probably have ended up like Ramsey scoring against Norwich on Friday.

Hope we batter them on Wednesday.

When they beat us at home last season their time wasting was horrific. Richie Smallwood was it as well. We were rubbish that day as well to be fair but it was a massive dent in our play off hopes.

Some ex players seem to be cowardly at first about playing back at the Riverside after leaving. It is uncanny how in general, former players leaving for other teams with some ‘issues’ seem unavailable when the time comes to return. Mystery niggles abound.

As cowardly as Ayala was at first about playing at the Riverside after recently leaving. It is uncanny how in general, former players leaving for other teams with some ‘issues’ seem unavailable when the time comes to return. Mystery niggles abound.
can remember Rippers coming back with Blackburn not log after he left and couldnt kick a ball... the occasion got to him and I am sure he got subbed after a few poor controls

I don’t think Connolly can kick a ball properly. Admittedly this is a bit of a problem for a professional footballer.

He's probably fit however while Hull are in town he's using it as another opportunity to sample the 'Pally fanny'.

I can't be the only one who's slightly relieved by this news? You often get returning players do well against us.

Yet really couldn't handle one who was so bad. You could easily see him peeling away with his ears cupped after scoring a winner😂

A truly awful signing. The polar opposite to Archer in terms of 'effect'. I'd rather we just gave Coburn more minutes.

I still remember some posters claiming there was a player in there. I believe one had even done courses. There were numbers everywhere, except in the goals scored and assists columns.
He was a waste of space and a year later he has simply left the same smell at two other clubs.

This lad should get an award for exactly mirroring two half seasons.

Goes to Venezia in Serie B,, has first 5 game involvements then settles into his favourite position of 'Not in squad'

Goes to Hull , has game time in first 5 games before settling in most favoured 'Not in squad' position

Unbelievable skills like, that !

Similar to him not wanting to take a penalty at Old Trafford.. what striker wouldn’t want to do that! I think he has some problems and I feel sorry for him tbh. I do see a talented striker there.. I think his extra curricular activities are more of a symptom that a cause.

I agree that he seems one mixed up bloke, to what degree is self inflicted only he knows, but i’d say pretty much most of it. Do I feel sorry for him, only in the way i feel sorry for anyone who struggles with everyday life, but the lad has had opportunity after opportunity at Brighton, Luton, Boro, Venezia and Hull and struggled to deliver on his alleged talent. His lucrative contract at Brighton runs out in June 2024, I can see him being released and struggling to find a club tbh. Injuries, attitude, application and lifestyle all seem to have played there part.

He is 23 now and seems to lack the discipline, commitment and attitude needed to make it. When at Brighton when he first burst onto the scene he was highly thought of, however, since those days he has had 4 loans and only 30 appearances and 4 goals, 2 of which at Boro were deflections in reality and owed something to lady luck. How Wilder selected him to start over Balogun is beyond fathoming.

I hope he can sort himself out mind as time is ticking, I wish him no ill will.
