Libertarianism

Why isn’t this called out as extremism in a similar way people go into a rage fuelled frenzy the day at Communism is? Surely this is an extremely damaging, regressive and dangerous political and social ideology. Yet there are openly libertarian MPs in the commons.

It's a strange philosophy with an unusual past. Started out on the left wing and was linked to anarchism. More lately it seems to stand for fairly extreme right wing economics with minimal state intervention in anything, linked to ostensibly liberal social views such as legalisation of drugs.

I think it's the lack of state-intervention that links the two. US style libertarianism is very much a right-wing movement and is what I'd generally expect to be the current accepted definition (in so far as people are using it).

Some pretty rich and influential people behind it so it's not going away soon, pretty much every popular movement and cry out for lack of government involvement is infused with it, funny thing is I want less local and national involvement but I found tts been hijacked so don't trust path ways open to me, it's one of the downsides of being globally connected, vested interests unsterand the processes and knowledge in how to manipulate it.

What price for this new westernised way of doing politics?

$14 for a cup of Starbucks coffee in NY
$17 for 2 bags of MacDonalds fries and 2 Chocolate shakes.

Land of the so called free and the home of the brave— you need to be very brave and perhaps stupid to pay the those prices.

Because it favours the rich and powerful who control the media.

One word answer then is: greed.
