Loads of positives tonight…

When I looked at tonight’s side, I thought we might struggle with the amount of changes and only 1 recognised centre back.

The reality was so much different. We dominated for large spells and played much better football. Luton were bang average. The only real criticism would be we weren’t quite as clinical but given the missing firepower, it’s hardly surprising.

Luton have cheated their way to 3 points. These things happen, especially with the referees in The Championship who are garbage. We had a similar penalty given for us at Blackpool as well.

Jones has put on another good performance. Dijksteel also very good in support.

The two lads in the middle were very good - you wouldn’t think that was one of their first games starting together.

Considering that was far from our first choice side, we’ve played really well. The main hope is that our key injuries are back in time for the play offs.

Result aside, a perfect night. No injuries, played well, regulars looked great, stand ins got valuable minutes. Barlaser a big plus. Another goal for Archer.

I’m fact, even the result isn’t that bad. If we play Luton at Wembley, they’ll surely play the same way having got the win tonight. But with Akpom, Hackney, Ramsey/Forss/McGree and hopefully Fry back in the starting line up, they won’t be able to cope with us.

Our first team beats theirs. I think with akpom and archer playing all game we beat them easily. They look like they are playing Pulis ball, but just doing it well.

Carrick not confident of injured players being back in time for the play offs. That wasn’t the update I was hoping to hear.

Hopefully he’s just keeping cards close to his chest.

If Howson and Lenaghan play CH , they need to dominate that area , not get dragged out of position like tonight . We would have won if they did that , and also picked up their CH who had a free header for their 1st goal .
Neither did well tonight as defenders . Bullied , but we knew that would happen if we let it happen .

Bullied? Give over. Dijksteel got blocked off on the first goal and a top player in his position Lockyer produced a very good header.

Lenihan was fine as he always is and Howson stepped into the role superbly and was on the front foot all night nipping infront of the forwards to win the ball and was excellent in possession too.

Sitting here in hotel bar with Luton fans and thinking I don't mind losing when we are clearly the better team, even with our reserves. It bodes well.

I think the EFL don't want us playing the Mackems in the semi finals. Lunchtime on the Sunday it is.

I think many of us are thinking like that. I am. But sometimes it's that that bites the best team in the asre.
But with Carrick's head, and Woodgate's experience, we should be good.

I hope we make the final, and I really hope we play Luton. We will beat them. Maybe not W Brom. Everyone else Yes!
