London’s fireworks…

Gushing about it on BBC World news over in Thailand ... covered live and does cement our status as a rich powerful nation ;)

I'm about 15 miles(as the crow flies) from central London so I'm not sure if the sound of fireworks travel that far. But it was bloody loud here with fireworks going off at midnight.

Oh. That’s where the HS2 money was redirected to.

It was televised nationally. Feeling very levelled up.
South Bank, no, not the one in London, didn't get a tree until halfway through December and only had festive lights on five lamposts.

A nice visual accompaniment to the neighbours' somewhat crude aural offerings. Which I suspect comprised mainly army surplus claymores.

I’m a bit meh with fire works displays…
I don’t feel like it makes a difference to me if they spaff all that money or not but theres always some one with an opinion either way…

There wont be funding for extra hospital beds if they don’t have them but we could feed a few more hungry kids if we didn’t 🤷🏼‍♂️

Fair enough. But I bet they weren’t vastly different to last year.
They seemed better than last year to me, though I'm not sure specifically why.

I was disappointed with Edinburgh this year. Maybe just the TV camera angle but there was too much smoke. Edinburgh used to be the daddy, but other cities have upped their game since 2000.
