Longer player names

This is something that has been getting on my nerves for the past few years.
Compared to the past, players names are getting longer and logner. Especially with the increasing use of double barreled names!
As I rely on radio commentary to follow a lot of games, this means that a lot more time is spent saying players names rather than actually explaining what is happening on the field of play.

Us signing Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has driven me to come on herre and moan about it. But we already have the worst example of this at our club with our captain Britt. With commentators always obliged to say his full name, "Assombalonga-Cantholditup", every time he gets the ball, I have no idea what he actually does with the ball when he gets it. By the time the commentators have said his name, the oppostion seem to have the ball back.

Maybe we could agree a system whereby all players have official shortened names that can be used in commentary. I'll have a stab here but feel free to add your own ideas
