Looking ahead - 2nd leg

For whatever reason I'm not aware of, Chelsea don't have a game next weekend. I'm guessing some type of winter mini break and poss , time off from training. So their next match is against us on Tues 23rd. That's 10 days of kicking around the training field or shopping in Dubai. They did not look that convincing yesterday and although the 3 points will have calmed the crowd I still think they are a bit disjointed.
We on the other hand , finally have a normal week of training on the usual days before a Home game vs Rotherham.and this keeps us in match mode mentality just 3 days before The Bridge. We have Rogers avail again and poss Forss too. We have new players who can play again vs Rotherham and share the mins with some of ours that might be leggy and will have to play at Chelsea
Obviously everything goes on the game itself, the events of it, but I think our 'prep'/build up situation is far better than the Blues and in this era of sporting marginal gains .. well it could assist us. Here's hoping .

Probably going to be a 3-5-2 against Chelsea again.

---------------Glover-------------------

---------RVDB Fry Clarke----------
Jones ---------------------------Engel

----Barlaser Howson Hackney----

-----------Rodgers Crooks-----------

So I'd expect Rotherham line up to be

-----------------Glover----------------------

Ayling -------Fry -- --RVDB --------Engel

-------------Barlaser Howson -------------

Forss ----------- Azaz ------- Greenwood

---------------- Rodgers ---------------------

Which gives Jones, Hackney, Clarke and Crooks a bit of a rest ahead of Tuesday, maybe 20 minute cameos to stay sharp.

With the rest of our injured team coming back to fitness, we may well have some more bodies ready ........and [maybe] one or two more through the door? ;) (y)

Im struggling to see having 1 week of from playing a match makes the slightest bit of difference to these premier league teams in terms of a " break "

What about L1 & L2 teams who play 46 games during the season, plus the league cup, plus the FA cup and even that johnstones paint trophy or whatever it is now called. All while having inferior facilities to these so called top clubs, less qualities nutritionists and fitness thingys.

Yet the prem clubs need a break with 25 man squads and players costing £70+million sat on the bench.

The “break” will probably involve a trip to Asia to play a friendly and sell millions of shirts!

Id give billongo and obrien a game vs rotherham too. Even gilbert and kavanagh at some point

As Roofie says all the pressure in on them.

They are expected to be beat us by a few goals. Its the £1000m team versus the £10m team.

They are also the current form team in the Premier League.

I think we need that pace over the top, no word on lathe so I’d potentially put Jones up top to run onto the counter attack long balls.
It’s the only way we can win if we Nick an early goal and sit back.
If we take the game to Chelsea then we will get hammered

Hope to see the Chelsea players posting images of holidays abroad this week like. While our lads be in training hard at work
