Lukas Rupp - Ex Norwich Midfielder - Incoming?

Didnt say he had, I was remarking on whats the type of player to be identified as a KS signing
It sounded very much like you were suggesting that based on his record here so far, we shouldn't trust his judgement.
Your liking of the post after yours seems to support that.
Fair enough if that is what you think, I was making the point that it is maybe to early to tell and it could be this year or next year that we see the benefit of his work.

If we were doing that we wouldn't be so heavy with the loans. We're going to have to replace 4 1st team players next season even if we're still in the Championship. That's before you have to replace any players that leave, or any players that aren't good enough. We've practically got a full rebuild to do already. The low and slow sustainable model doesn't rely on loans, it relies on development and you can't do that if you have loan players taking the spots. Roberts looks like a good keeper but aside from the odd injury we're going to be developing Man City's reserve keeper so they can get a bigger profit when they sell him on in the future instead. Fulham's striker might get 20 goals and a hefty price tag so we can't afford him. Giles is an assist machine, we'll never be able to afford him but Wolves will benefit from him improving his defensive side.

The idea of being sustainable is sound but we're not doing that. We've tried to spend big and missed out on targets, we've completely ignored our DM position, which we tried to recruit to last year (Siliki) so we know it is a weakness. If you are being sustainable then you sign players permanently, give them a chance and allow them to develop. We haven't got a squad, or made signings, that suggests long term sustainability. We've signed a CB to replace Fry who was developing well and we could've made a decent profit on. Not playing him means his value will go down. That's the opposite of what the process is supposed to be. We've signed short term loans etc. None of that is long-term thinking.

The major factor at the moment though is Wilder is not a manager who develops players. He doesn't trust young players. I have a friend who's son played for him at Sheff Utd and, similar to what we've heard from him about the youth not being ready yet, said there will be no youth development while Wilder is in charge. He prefers experienced players. He also said Payero wouldn't last long because he prefers players that have experience of the league they are playing in (and especially wants players that speak the language fluently). Obviously if a player is good enough and impresses they'll get a chance but the default when a player is injured isn't to promote the best youth player but to move an experienced player from another position to cover.
And that's why the mantra he's the best manager in the championship spouted by fools on here is simply not true. He won't develop or promote youth he's insular in attitude to overseas players and he's inflexible in system. In many ways he's just as Jurassic as Warnock

'Long Warnock'

for the record I do not consider Neil Warnock Jurassic. Fit for purpose and a master of the championship.

newy, Im a massive Warnock fan, for me probably the best championship manager but, im afraid, it just wasnt working for him here

That's very true of course, but as I look at his record at Norwich they are still waiting for most of his recruitment to come good, which will be difficult given most have left on frees or loan.
He was part of recruiting Pukki and Buendia, but has mainly traded loads of low value players.
Norwich spent all the Buendia money plus £20m more that summer on some buys its fair to say have not worked out, but he was Chief Scout then.

I think he suffered the same as what Wilder is going through right now. We had to jump to get Wilder on board as a long term option and that was that.

IMHO - we're just being let down by some sloppy defensive play - maybe due to lack of replacements - though late goals due, in no small part, to our own poor play is what is really costing up = defensivley we're not robust or strong enough.

I don't like playing just one, effective, attacker & I'd prefer Crooks in the 10 role over McGree.. just being an Aussie doesn't make him Tim Cahill..

And the Norwich fans were going ..... "Pukki - who the hell is he. Whats Keiran Scott done so far to justify us bringing someone in on the back of his recommendations" .... and Aarons, and Buendia, and etc etc
Aarons was already at

Aaron's was already in Norwich academy by the time Scott became a scout for Norwich.
He joined in 2016 from Luton before Scott was Norwich scout from 2017.

I may have missed one or two recruits but it looks like Buendia and Pukki in his 4 years there, but a load of nothings on top of that.

Cheers Indeedido, I dont know who he signed or not, my post was in regards to what he's s done since been here to ask the question, seems as though someone maybe adding a few extra names to prove him more popular

Lukas Rupp still without a club.. David Wagner still current out of work..
David Wagner who presided over Schalke 04's record 18 league defeats in a row and was sacked by Young Boys after failing to win the swiss league with a team who had won it the 3 previous seasons? You'd prefer him to Wilder?

Give over.
I think he would be more suited to our current players than Wilder, the club have been after him for long enough and I think he suits the club’s recruitment policy going forward.

American, German, French player, free agents

Wilder throwing a strop because we don’t bring in a £10m striker doesn’t cut it for me I’m afraid. THEN he has the cheek to lecture our fans on expectations FFS

I’m 100% on this, whatever good will Wilder rode on from Warnock’s tenure has dried up..

Chrissy Wilder pled,
It’s not me, it’s someone else instead
Oh words can’t describe
Being three nill down before half time
The team is fine
We’ve got every right to whine
That’s why we’ll sing this song
For the Boro all night long..

We have just sold up to £32.5m of players and brought in £8m. Also not filled in all the squad places. I don't think most of us would be over the moon if we were the manager.

Wilder is the right guy for us for me, fans have to patient.

90% turnmed on Mogga and many now privately regret it.

There logic was 3 wins in 9.5 months which seemed fair at the time, but time has shown Mogga is a decent manager. What it did show is that bad runs can last 9.5 months.
