He definitely won't be involved, but it would hilarious if Mac Allister went from winning the World Cup final to playing away at League One Charlton in 3 days.

One of the 1986 Argentina world cup winning team was Jose Luis Brown - another player with Irish ancestry.

Got to take my hat off to Brighton these last few years.

Their scouting and recruitment has been top drawer.

They're consistently getting it right. Both on and off the pitch.

They somehow managed to get around £15m for Maupay....so who's to say they won't make some sort of profit on Connolly.

There's always a team out there stupid enough to take the bait.

They have been really excellent, easily replaced the big players they’ve sold.

Think OPs point is that maybe ours has been quite good as well - buying the guy who played over Mac Allister - but something went wrong, either on but probably off the pitch.

In my experience, once fans of other clubs start saying other smallish teams look like they're doing really well 'off the pitch' the side are in liquidation or on the verge of within 2 seasons.

So nice one lads, you've just managed to relegate Brighton in 2024 and cast their future in doubt in 2025.
