The seagull echo has us linked along with Coventry to this lad from Notts County
He is exactly the type of punt I thibk we should be.in for
Great natural goal.scorer
Sunderland have withdrawn their interest apparently
Anyone heard anything .

The Gazette and Echo both ran with the line that he's not a player we're interested in when he was linked earlier in the window.

Never heard any links.

I would expect Notts County have had a few offers for him in the last 12 months.

The issue is, can he do still do it, two divisions above the level he is playing at.

He is 27 on Saturday and that might put off some bidders, who would be looking to develop him and sell him on for a profit.

I heard Sunderland had cooled their interest..

Does t seem like our kettle of fish at all.. but I’m sure will will have looked at him and see what he could bring to the table.

I can see a championship club taking a punt on him.. maybe we’re just too calculated now?

This is a bit of a weird one. What type of player is he? The old fashioned goal sniffer is just becoming a thing of the past. Like goalkeepers, modern strikers are expected to have an all round game and not just to score goals. They are all expected to track back when the dont have the ball and also be able to keep possession. Chuba's play with his back to the goal last year was amazing, especially when combining with an overlapping Giles.
I can only think that this lad has been watched by everybody but they all think that there isnt enough of the other aspects - he clearly scores a lot.

He's pretty much a poacher. Ball comes to him in the box, he sticks it in the back of the net. Doesn't exactly have pace and isn't great at holding the ball up. Get quality balls into the box on a regular basis and he could score a fair few for us but I think the Championship is too high a level personally, plus he doesn't play the way Carrick has us play.
