Maddo post match

Brynn baffles me. Seems to get rave reviews where ever he goes. Now 23? At what point do he deem him good enough to be given a chance?
At the start of the season he had played no higher than league 2, another loan spell was a good idea. He will either be involved next season, or sold for much more than we could have got this time last season, so a very wise decision. (Same goes for Hemming too)

And as for the full backs - utterly pointless signings, Thomas & Ayling. Dire, the pair of them. If we don't have a kid we could help develop who, currently, would not be as calamitous as those two, we have a bunch of very poor young full backs on our books!
I think Zach Hemming is ahead of Brynn too. I don't think they'll ever get their chance as number 1 here.

If I where one of the youngest I would be banging on the gaffers door saying play me, I'm better than X let me prove it !

and The Manager says "i watch you in training 5 days a week - every week you have 5 days to 'prove' it, but you dont."

banging on a managers door these days will show the management team that your not a team player, you have an ego the size of the town hall clock and it comes with ignorance.

when theyre good enough, both mentally and physically they will get their chance and opportunity - remind me again of those young players who have left us and gone on to be world class, superstar, first on the team sheet, premiership/budesliga/serie A, stars? i bet they have their own 'image' rights as well in their contracts such is their abilities.

There aren't really any U21s available.

We are horribly short of a dominating midfielder but the only one who could play that role is Agyemang and he's gone out on loan. Woolston has been on the bench to watch but he seems more of a technical midfielder than one who can hold his own at this level.

We don't have a right back available. Gitau is on loan and Simpson has never been anywhere near the 1st team.

Bilongo might have been an option as a left wing-back but he's on loan.

We do have Finch, Nkrumah and Willis coming back from injury. I can imagine that Finch in particular might make the bench.

Bottom line is that there aren't really any names in the U21s that seem likely to fit into the team right now. I still don't know why Carrick refused to play Nkrumah, Kavanagh or Hoppe when we needed a striker or why Gilbert isn't allowed on the pitch. We do have the potential "wonderkids" like McCabe and Cartwright but we have no lack of attacking midfielders.

I guess the bottom line is that I'm not really seeing anyone in the U21s who is available right now who look like they would be good options. Probably Finch if he is fit enough. If Bilongo or Agyemang weren't on loan, maybe. Nkrumah, maybe, if he is over his injury.

For whatever reason, though, we don't seem to have anyone in the U21s who has managed more than a month on loan. Something has gone wrong over the last 18 months because the "production line" has ground to a halt after Hackney.
