Currently being redeveloped with a big children’s play park and a crazy golf course. Lots of money being spent on it.

The beach is the same as ever but the surrounding area has improved significantly in the last few years.

A shame about the little scrotes setting fire to the toilets.

I walk my dog down there every day, my favourite stretch of the beach as I can't bare the esplanade when it's busy.

Just started work on the, rather pointless IMO, hotel.

The Car Park at night has become a race track for the young scroats. I love a walk from there to South Gare, lovely and quiet

It will be good, they have done one similar at Seaburn, decent quality....If they're going to do Redcar Bowl that end will be almost posh

It's called Majuba Car park which is on Majuba Road and hence some people call that section of beach Majuba beach....

How did it get called Majuba Road? Majuba Hill was a battle in the Boer War but I cant see any connection with that and Redcar and none of the other roads or streets are similarly named.

Went down there recently and it looks really good what they've done so far. It's definitely an improvement on the eyesore that was mungle jungle.

How did it get called Majuba Road? Majuba Hill was a battle in the Boer War but I cant see any connection with that and Redcar and none of the other roads or streets are similarly named.

It was sarcastically named Majuba beach by a wag who was being showered by golf balls from the nearby course. He compared it to Majuba Hill

Spion Kop cemetery in Hartlepool also took its name from a battle in the Boer war, as did liverpools Kop end…
