Mason Greenwood

Branding Domestic Violence Charities as hostiles has to be one of the saddest things I’ve read in a while.

Also, I’ve heard chatter doing the rounds that Authorities and Manchester United knew that Mason Greenwood was breaking his restraining order numerous times in order to “patch things up” with his girlfriend. Both neglect to mention this.

In the eyes of the law it dose
Marvanelli is correct in English courts,at least. Not guilty means we couldn't prove your guilt.

In Scotland they have 3 verdicts available. Guilty, not proven and not guilty. In Scotland not guilty is considered very close to innocent. In English courts it is very open ended.

I do, by and large, want him hounded out of football. However, he has not been charged with anything and his partner has elected to stay with him and have a child.

None of us know the background of their relationship and I find it a little uncomfortable agreeing that we should remove his livelihood given the above.

For the recording alone, if you worked for me you would be sacked end of story. Irrespective of position or ability. No reprieve. The way he spoke to that woman shows a deplorable attitude towards women/girls.
As a society we should be doing more to address violence towards women and girls.
When considering football, we must first remember that not all football supporters are men, what message does that send to women and girls who love and watch football, as for boys/men, how on earth do we educate en mass if we show that that was acceptable or forgivable?

'The victim was already lying bleeding in the street when 21-year-old Woodgate was seen to stand back, leap with both feet in the air and land on the teenager's body, the court heard'
Wow! I never knew it was that serious. Assuming you’ve taken this from an article, have you got a link?

I would hope if he ever steps on a football pitch in this country again that instead of a smart, witty chant against him, every opposition fan simply chants Rapist,Rapist, Rapist as loud as possible every time he goes near the ball. TV companies would never be able to edit it out and would rightly shame Grernwood and anyone supporting him.

He's lucky to be able to avoid prosecution. If the CPS thought there would be any chance of prosecution I'm sure they'd have taken a case forward - regardless of reconciliation between the two.

He's a 'financial asset' to Manchester United , they see him as a commodity to trade & that can add monetary value to Manchester United & their brand.. I suspect they - Manchester United & their shareholders - want to keep him so they can turn a profit.

They are back together for now, I fear this won't be the end of it & I suspect a beating & - forcing himself on her, could end up with an even more - though very predictable - outcome, for her & a long sentence for him..

Money & business reveal a very questionable moral compass in people..

*IF* that's true than ManU had a chance to get Greenwood convicted of breaking the restraining order, and helping her get away from him

If social media was a thing when Woodgate was attacking the student or burning 50’s in peoples faces (allegedly) would he have a career in football now? I have a feeling he wouldn’t.

It was widely reported at the time. There were certainly question marks over whether he should be allowed to play/be involved in football again. I wonder whether he would have been allowed to resume his career in the same way if social media was around back then.

I agree with that. It's the reason why the CPS do usually continue to pursue a conviction even if it is against the wishes of the victim. If something like this happens more than once, it usually doesn't stop - and often gets progressively worse.

People are talking about her choosing to have a child with him as though this is proof that he wasn't abusing her. But this is usually a stage of the abuse. Having a child can be another element of control in a relationship, which makes it far harder for someone to leave (male or female).

Look, we aren't in the relationship so we don't know everything, but that audio and the images clearly show that there was abuse taking place. Whether or not he was convicted. He really shouldn't be allowed to play again.

Can't say I fully disagree with Simon Jordan here. IF (and I can't see how this could be the case, but still) there is other information that proves that he didn't do it - yes, you weather the storm. I really don't see how with what has been released into the public domain. But if the extra information doesn't change it then morally you shouldn't be bringing him back into the club.

They're now considering U-turning on bringing him back.

Good, and good on the Man United fans for making it clear how disgusting the decision to bring him back would have been.
