Weakening the squad again. Drives me mad, no replacement for Rogers. Now another one gone. Iv always liked Crooks. Carrick says he wants to explore it. Why not be like tough sh** you’re contracted to us. Why bother giving him an extension. I’m getting sick and tired of it. Anyone offers the club money they’re like yeah you can have him, anything to make a few more pounds yet we are paying fortunes to watch them every week.

If they've offerd us 1-1.5m for him now, that offer might not be there in the summer. With his wage saving, we could be turning down 1.7m for a player that's just going to sit on the bench.
His head will also not really be into us, this is a life changing opportunity for his family.

Decent player Crooks and enjoyed watching him play for us, best of luck to him.
Didnt expect to get in the play offs but letting a good player now is an odd thing to do IMHO and perhaps lessens our chances.

Burra are massive in the MLS we've had some big players go over there. Championship is highly rated and Matt Crooks numbers are mega.. plus personality wise with all the charity stuff.. why wouldn't an MLS team want him.
He will defo go down well.

I think he's valued and rated for his effort and professionalism, but he isn't seen as the future due to age, and limited technical ability, which I think is fair.
The game has moved on even in teh 3 years he's been here, and promotion from the championship takes a higher level of player than when he joined. If we have true pretentions of promotion then with our current style of play he's a little bit short of anything but sneaking a play off spot .
"We have plenty of attacking options" seems like a hollow boast from Carrick. Forss probably the only fit player who might arguably be termed a striker. Against Sunderland we saw Hackney and Greenwood pushed forward with Hackney being dire there, he was missed in his normal role whilst Greenwood's contribution was being born offside. Fortunately McGree is back and will hopefully add some firepower because with Jones injured and three midfielders in Barlaser, Howson and Hackney very unlikely to contribute our defence had better be watertight given our dismal record at home to Bristol City. 2 wins from 11 hardly looks promising.

He's more of a goal threat that many of the 'attackers' at the club on more money.
I understand if we want shot due to formations / contract situation. Yet in terms of a player we'd do well to replace with as good or better for the nominal fee we fill recieve.
He could no doubt do better in terms of next club. I imagine over of the champo clubs would love him.

Amazed when saw him linked away but it makes me wonder if we’re going all out in the summer and are maximising our financial position . Hopefully Hackney stays and i think he will , I’m not sure the big money will come that we’d want for him just yet .
