Matthew Hoppe

A baffling signing from the first moment.

Expensive and never used.

I'd understand if we'd persisted with him for a bit and he just stank the place out, but he was behind midfielders and wingers in the pecking order for striker.
 
Hoppe has made 6 appearances, hardly likely to trigger a fee if he hits 10. It was also mentioned when he signed that he wasn’t £2m, nowhere near. He made 8 appearances the previous season, scoring 0 goals.
 
I’m sure Manure would buy him judging by their performance today!! lol 😆

Seriously though it would be interesting to know who from the scouting department recommended him for purchase.
 
This club must have wasted tens of millions on players like this over the years - and remember it’s not just the initial outlay with the transfer fee, you also have to factor in the wages paid too

It really isn’t limited to us, and we’ve improved a lot over the last couple of years. If you wanna make an omlette you gotta break some eggs first
 
He's a CF who's never really scored. He's had a lot of clubs for his age. Failure to score regularly in the MLS or SPL doesn't suggest he's a player.

The fact we've have one fit CF (Lath). We've also had spells with no CF. Yet he still doesn't get a kick. That says it all. How bad must he be? I presumed it was because we wanted to get shot and he couldn't play for us in Jan as he'd already played for someone. Yet still not featured.

It's all very odd. Unless it is a appearance based add on thing? Yet doubt it. It would be an incredibly low number for an add on.

Definitely an appearance based deal structure I reckon.

He’s probably cost us next to nowt except for his (apparently low) wages
