Mbappe to leave PSG

Reports that he’s following Messi and Neymar out of the door by not taking his contract option. Pushing for Real Madrid move obviously.

That superteam experiment went well.

A certain Harry Kane of north London running out of options - again.
Kane to PSG to replace all the departing show ponies ? Might even win the league title everyone thinks he deserves if he goes there 🙅

Didn’t Mbappe sign a new deal not that long ago? And proclaim he loved the club etc (which I was always highly cynical of).

If they lose their big 3 names this summer that’s a huge kick in the teeth and a suggestion that perhaps it’s pointless owning a team in Ligue 1.

I wonder if their owners might just come and buy Arsenal/Liverpool?

Kane's just got to make sure he has a brilliant season, stay fit and get a great free transfer next year now.

He said he wont extend his current contract, which to me leaves it open for them to offer him more money which i think is what he wants. He sees CR7 and go going to the middle east for silly money, so he wants PSG to pay him that if they want him to stay put which they probably will as he's their poster child and with Messi and Neymar going, they need him to stay.

Nice safe option for Kane now, head to PSG and swim in Ligue 1 titles for the rest of his days - however he will have the same level of Champions League success as playing for Spurs 😂

Regarding Kane a lot depends on whether he wants the Premier League scoring record. He’ll break it within two seasons if he stays. The problem are his options. Spurs or Man United. Neither means he wins a league title.

He must be in the last year of his contract as it is rumoured that PSG are willing to sell him rather than him walking away for nothing next season.

Signed a 2 year deal with the option of a third, but the option was only able to be activated by Mbappe.

So it's either sell now with a year left or risk losing him for nothing.

18 months ago I think, and they basically made him chairman. Oh, and a reported 100m signing on fee.

Think it was a 2 year deal with an option for 3rd - which he’s formally turned down today, so out of contract next summer.

It is quite an interesting summer with players like Mbappe, Kane, Neymar and Akpom likely on the move. Plus many others I’m sure I’ve forgotten too.

Shame Messi and Benzema effectively took early retirement.

I’m not sure where he goes though?

Superb player but there’s a real narrow window to join these mega-clubs - depending on your age, contract length, availability, and most importantly who else they’ve got - and the chance often doesn’t come up twice. There’s always a younger model.

City for instance won’t be buying another number 9 until Haaland moves to Real in 2-3 years, then the musical chairs starts again. This Mbappe thing is clearly Real going, come now or we buy Kane. In a year, Kane is about to turn 31. You could still see him ending up somewhere like United or Chelsea, but I think he could have done better.

I think Levy’s intransigence and Kane not wanting to push it through might have taken away his chance to play at the absolute highest level, and it makes me think I’m not sure why anyone would ever sign for Spurs. He should have left during the transfer saga two years ago when City, United and potentially Real and Bayern were in for him.
