Absolutely, but its his choice what to do. And I think in 90% of cases, we would all follow the money. People aren't genuinely altruistic about wealth accumulation. Us s***ing on him saying pah, what a greedy fellow, when in similar circumstances, we would most likely do the same thing is a bit silly. I have never understood this need to make footballers walk away from money and play for the lower league like its some sort of halo moment towards the end of their career.

As I say, I have always been a massive fan. But I can absolutely call him greedy too. His bonus structure has caused massive financial difficulties for Barcelona and he literally defrauded Spain of taxes. This isn’t “oh he should turn down a lucrative contract to prove his love of the game by playing pro bono for St Pauli”.

Personally I’d love to see him end his career at Newell’s

Well of course it’s his choice, and I haven’t suggested he plays in the lower leagues. HE is the one seemingly after playing in the lower leagues.

There is a lot of assumption in your post, personally I have never really followed the money because there are other factors in my life I consider more important that I’d have to sacrifice to do so. And I have a mortgage to pay and big childcare bills. Am guessing Messi doesn’t struggle with those things as much as me but maybe I’m wrong.

He's already picking up loads of cash from Saudi Arabia too as some sort of ambassador for their tourist industry or such like. I'd say he'll more than likely end up there. It's not a great look for such a popular player, but there you go.

Just like pretty much every other footballer, obsessed with money, i mean.....how many cars and houses and F***ing boats or whatever does anybody need

Ronaldo, selling his soul the latest one for arab oil money where women are treat like dogshit and gays are hanged , went their purely to make more gazillions,
not for footballng reasons

Nah, no point. He’d never get in the team, choo choo Chuba has nearly double the league goals Messi has, I suppose at a push he could maybe do a job as an impact player from the bench 🤔

He took a small amount of the insane revenue he was generating for Barca. Maybe you should actually have a read into it.

What he said isn’t wrong though, we are all a fan of messi the footballer but he’s been found to be financially corrupt.

As a snapshot, in a 3-year period, he made Barca 620m & he earned 380m. That seems a healthy profit for Barca. Single handily making Barca 30% of their revenue. Simply getting paid what he's worth.
