MFC Retail Answers Above

Not really much in that reply is there?

No "engagement" to adopt the management vernacular.

Just to pick up on my question of selling wool hats rather than acrylic. They said:
We have trialled wool hats for example, but the reality of wool is the cost, we must consider the value aspect for our customers.
In other words we're just going to sell you cheap tat. My point was that I accept that fewer people will buy the more expensive option but if it was to be produced in a "classic" or "un-dating" style (a simple red and white bobble hat for example) then surely it would be something that might sell as presents at Christmas. Companies such as Retro Classico offer a merino wool scarf with a simple red and white bar design for Ā£30 (though ironically it is out of stock). Source those, stitch a badge on it...

I finally managed to buy a new scarf last night. A red and white bar one. Ā£15 cheap acrylic. I'd have happily bought a merino wool one. Of course we are now on the cusp of spring so we finally have a selection of scarves in the shop...

ā€œThey monitor stock levels and reorders take up to 60 daysā€ is fair enough.

But Iā€™d say the stock level that triggers a re-order is obviously way too low. They should never be left without stock of home and away shirts in every size as a bare minimumā€¦ never mind all the training gear etc.

If stock can take 60 days to arrive, they should be reordering when stock levels reach 10 x average weekly sales. But I guess they wait for stock to drop much lower than that as they donā€™t want to be left with excess kit.

And obviously a massive order should be going in in September for Xmas salesā€¦ Iā€™m not sure that happened either

"From order to delivery the stock can take up to 60 days to arrive. We also must look at current stock holding and previous sales history to ensure we are not over stocked."

She surely can't think this is a good answer? Fans don't give a crap whether the shop is over stocked or not. What has annoyed people is not being able to get hold of shirts, particularly for things like Xmas.

Any idiot can make sure you're not over stocked. But what are they doing to make sure they have enough stock to meet demand (particularly given the 60 day turnaround time)?

Just a bizarre position to take. "hey guys how good are we, we never have too much stock. What's the problem?".

Unreal, but what we've come to expect from MFC I guess.

Thanks Rob,

Looks like more of a token gesture from the club. Hardly answered any questions and sadly, after a few years of asking the club direct on various social media, still no answers on why we cannot have a shirt without the betting sponsor on!

Rob, when you passed on all questions, did the club pick and choose the questions they wanted to answer?

Rob puts himself in an impossible position sometimes with stuff like this. They were never going to give us any proper answers and Rob can only pass on what they've said and then he gets a load of crap for doing that as if it's his fault. I don't know why he bothers.

A complete waste of time. The club breeze past any form of accountability/difficult questions and instead will carry on as stubborn as a bull like they do every year.

Thanks Rob. There are questions that haven't been answered - did you not ask those questions or were they asked and not answered?

Can't think of many businesses that would be happy to describe themselves as being Reasonable.
