I've had great support personally [and] the boys have home and away and, we appreciate that. We're doing everything we can to give them more to shout about and to support and enjoy. We're trying to do that in a certain way by playing the way we're playing [smile] and making it successful, you know. So yeah, keep supporting us, keep the energy in the players, keep feeling that love and passion for the club and see where we can end up.

Boro progress. `On the inside`, does Carrick think there's still a lot to be optimistic about?

I do. Yeah. I do! I think I get [your point]……results do not largely dictate the feelings around the place. But, for sure, you take a step back and look at it: the foundations and, actually building on something and having something to build on…… I do feel that we've got that. We all want instant success, and I'm craving it. The boys are craving it. We want that, but I do feel that going about it the way we are….longevity and steps to improve…come from a foundation than a bit more sporadic transfer-window to transfer-window you know. Sometimes that takes a bit of time, sometimes you got to help the younger boys. It's not all about younger boys, but you got to help them develop [and] experience, so that's quite exciting for me. I'm fully aware that you know it's about results, it's about winning games, it's about finishing as high up the league as we can….because that's what we're all in it for. But, it does give me a lot of hope and encouragement for what's coming up.

Playing the way we are playing, shipping goals in for fun, passing out from the back with acb who has no technical ability, no ST, endless wasted possession and giving the ball away, they way all teams play now all it will take.is someone to go 442 again lump it forward and tomorrow the league as no one will remember who to play against it

Let's see what he says after tomorrow.
Will he play Forss up front ?
Will Mcgree start ?
Will he admit Thomas is a better option than Engelbert Humpthething ?

Does this actually mean anything?

Perhaps you could talk to Michael at PNE tomorrow and let him know where you think he's going wrong.
After all, you appear to know all the answers. (y)

There's plenty more he said today. None of it bollax. He was pushed by tedious reporters, trying to find headlines for their clickbait advertisers, but he didn't respond. He refused to make an issue of free agents and denied any panic in the camp. One reporter answered their own question about the payoffs, stating there were 16 games to go and anything could happen! Carrick also pointed historically at how quickly the Championship can change, even in the last four weeks of the season. We can only take hope from what he says.

* Its more than the email the club gave us about upping season ticket prices

Wow. What an unnecessarily snarky response. There was no need for that.
The poster was only expressing an opinion which isn't actually too dissimilar to lots of others on here.

The good news is it sounds like he is here for the long term.
The bad news is we can forget about the play offs this season.
What great news. Looking forwards to more fabulous possession football in our 6 yard box, more Fry passes to the keeper, more Fry passes to The other CB, more Fry passes to the keeper, more Barlaser coming deep to take ball and pass it to Fry, who passes it to the keeper, who launches it down the tunnel under pressure.

I was hoping for more of the stuff we witnessed last season. Let's see what the summer brings and we might have a better idea.

I'll respond how I want to rubbish like the above.
Punctuation and proper grammar might be useful too.
Good night.

Good night.
The points made were valid and have been repeated by many on here.
- Conceding too many goals.
- Centre backs who don't have the technical ability to play out from the back.
- Pointless possession with no end product.
- A belief that an 'old-fashioned' 442 system might be more effective in this league.

You might not agree with some or any of those points, I certainly don't. But to call them rubbish and try and ridicule the poster was unnecessary in my view. If you don't agree with them why not try and debate and discuss them? Something you have been keen to encourage others to do on all sorts of issues.

And to criticise grammar and punctuation is a cheap shot. Particularly when your punctuation and spelling is often pretty poor itself.

Yes, we didn't play well, we lost, we were very much a mid-table team.
But I just admit that Manager of another team He's got brains. His team has good results against Forest and West Ham. He's not lousy.
I used to support Manchester United. Now I'm quitting. It's not that I can't accept the results. But I can't stand the mood of the team's fans more.
We want to be number one. Every team wants to be successful as well. But have we ever considered the elements that will take us to that point? What must it have? So how much time does it take?
This is a 3-year project. After 1 and a half years, everyone is already discouraged.
If we have very good players and we have a lot of money, we don't have to wait, but do we?

A few negative comments, but I for one am more enthused after reading that. Suggests there’s a bigger picture and Carrick fully buys into this. Let’s just take it game by game between now and the end of the season and finish as high as we can. I accept play offs are a long shot, but we can still enjoy the football if we put together a few wins. Opportunity also for Azis to bed in, assess the loan players and perhaps bring on some of our academy lads.

Playing shight football and increasing ticket prices, selling our best players year on year, having zero ambition.
Is what people on here will say.
I just say drop engel.

The good news about not making the playoffs is that all those fans who definitely would have found the £300 plus to go to Wembley but cannot find the extra £30 to renew their ST will now be able to afford it. Every cloud and all that (y)
