(Perhaps better to open this on a bigger screen rather than a phone. With my eyes anyway).
This is a map commissioned by the government funded High Street Heritage Action Zone in Middlesbrough - click on the numbers to find out a little about the history of buildings that might seem familiar. Could be you walk past them every matchday. Yet you probably never knew that they held so much history.
This is all part of a plan to revive the fortunes of this area of Middlesbrough, the historic commercial core of the town. At present Exchange Square renovations are almost completed. The same with regards to Zetland Road.
Anyway, please enjoy the map - you can pick up printed leaflet maps from The Masham - now an art gallery operated by Navigator North - open Thurs to Saturday 11am until 4pm

There will be a ticketed talk about the map on Sat 28th May 1-3pm

Details given nearer the time.

Interesting. I noticed recently that NLS have done some catch up on OS town plans (1:500 - 126" to the mile) and some local places, including the Boro, are included. THe maps are from the 1890s.
