Money wasted

Quite disappointing weve wasted money with managers like pulis and monk and now we have a progressive manager looks like the funds aren't there.

Happy to sign these young players and see what happens I don't mind the championship but last season feels like a missed opportunity and with the new setup and a few good buys.

Arrgghh... Its just bloody frustrating.

Who have we missed out on? Who is the money not there for?

I think the idea of finding a more forward thinking approach is very welcome, especially for boro who have seemed a bit backwards since we employed Gordan Strachan. But there has to be experience that goes along with buying new and young players who have potential.

I think what we've seen so far isnt very balanced and hopefully we'll fix that before the season starts.

It could just be the fact that I'm almost 40 and have an in-built negativity/anxiety. But I still think we're quite a way short in terms of starting the season and this is likely the last chance we have before somebody comes in and makes an offer for Carrick.

I hope we can make it work this year, building on last seasons successes

The new recruitment model is the only way that makes any sense in modern day football. Players are being traded for ludicrous money that teams like us just don’t have, unless, we turn a young player into the next huge sale. Rogers et al. might not be the one, but you have to try.
Plus it’s not like it used to be where every season outside the top division felt like we were playing below our level, the premier league now is just an empty competition of who has the richest backers and beyond the top six is largely a survival battle.

we’re running a different game.. no more pishing money away or paying over the odds for players.

Exactly my thoughts. The next month is massive for us..

The money we spent when we got relegated was blew by a poor manager, in Bamford we one of the best strikers in the division anyway and I presumed we bought him in January as an insurance policy to go back up so we frittered quite a lot of it away.

The bigger issue was what pulls wasted from swapping the last of the silverware in Traore, Gibson & Bamford on Flint, Saville, McNair and a hefty loan fee for Hugill
