Morton manager - well out of order

1-1 v Arbroath live on BBC Scotland. Morton took the lead then missed a hatful of chances and missed a penalty. Arbroath equalised after the keeper made a mistake.

Live post-match interview the Morton manager totally hung his keeper out to dry. Kept going on about the mistake costing them 2 points. Well out of order in my opinion.

This is a small part of it:
"He's [Schwake] a young goalkeeper in the game trying to make a name for himself. He has to be switched on and his concentration levels have to be high. That's not the first time this season he's cost us points."

Looked like he was arguing with the fans at the end of the match as well.

I often watch the live Scottish games on the BBC, as I'm more of a fan of lower tier football than watching global superstars. (This attitude might change if Boro get back into the top flight! 😉).

Having said that, I didn't see the game last night. From what you say about the manager arguing with fans, it sounds like his time might be numbered, as falling out with the fans never ends well.

Missed penalty was something else as well.
Fairly routine save but the way the keeper managed to block the follow up was impressive. Then the defender's block on the line for the second follow up was unreal.
That's brilliant! :) . It looked like there was some argy bargy brewing just as the video ended. I wish I'd watched the game live now.

And thanks for posting the clip, as I couldn't get it to load through the BBC website earlier this morning.

It was definitely a salty ending to the match 🙂

Arbroath almost achieved the unthinkable last season, just missing out on promotion to the SPL.
It's a shame they are struggling this season but what's good to see is local kids wearing Arbroath tops and gear as opposed to Celtic or Rangers. They've even started their own version of ultras or RF with flags and drums.
Attendances have doubled and the ground facilities improved.
Still a part-time team with an "old fashioned" character as manager, whose assistant is his twin brother.
Good luck to them.
