Mowbray's Reaction Tonight

Not gonna lie the last thing on my mind tonight is Tony Mowbray and the reception he will receive. He’s a legend at the club everyone knows that but let’s not make this about the opposition manager all focus needs to be on our players and managers performance. Wish Mowbray well in general but not whilst he is an employee of that club.

Dont recall us singing his name when he's returned with Blackburn. Did he play at the Riverside for Ipswich?
 
He played for Ipswich at the Riverside can't remember what year but 99 sounds about right and it was his first time back at the club since leaving. He pretty much had the entire ground chanting his name before kick off, it was one of those moments that gave you goosebumps.

I vaguely remember some newspaper article with an interview with Mowbray at the time recounting that the young Ipswich players at that time couldn't quite believe the reception he got.

He did indeed and there was a five minutes standing ovation for him

In fact the Ipswich players couldn’t believe it.

It was quite a moment
 
I couldn't care less. To he honest what's he meant to do? He can't slag off his new fanbase after a week 😂

They will sing it. Although I'm sure even a few in the Sunderland end will take offence and maybe tell a few to shut up. Then again you here as bad or worse weekly at other clubs.

You won't here it on TV. Sky have virtually sanitised all chants now. You cant even tell what people are signing these days.
