Does anyone remember David Hoare? He actually quit Tyne Tees News to become a priest.
Sad news indeed. The soft voice, the warm smile. He made every birthday wish granted that bit more special.

He used to do the slots in between the shows and read the news occasionally. I remember it very well coz my sister had a huge crush on him and she would rush in every time he was on the box!

He was a presenter on Radio Tees not Tyne Tees.
This is a tribute to Neville Wanless who passed away this weekend aged 89.
The former continuity announcer at Tyne Tees - very popular - a gentle presence on the box from 1958-88
He also used to do George Formby shows on the ukulele.
