Inspired by Borobarmy's thread on buying into the company but;

I've recently bought a new pair of Dr Martens boots. The leather is like steel and I'm struggling to 'wear them in' and my feet and lower legs are battered. There's lots of 'advice' on the net but I'm not sure what to trust.

I don't remember this problem from years ago.

Any tips?
 
you just have to persevere, I struggled at first but they are great now. They will soften
 
I bought a pair just before the Suttgart game and, unthinkingly, decided to wear them for the trip. By the time I got back I could barely walk. I've had several pairs since then with no problem at all. So the answer, based on my experience is don't travel to Stuttgart in them. Alternatively, do wear them to Stuttgart and bear the pain, because you won't have the same problem again. Hope that helps.
 
is the pish thing a reality or just a daft old windup? I always used to hear that squadies always did it to knock in new boots but i dont know anybody who tried it.
