New Music 2021

The last pick by Phoebe(there was some older albums by Bright Eyes and Elliott Smith) was a band/girl called LaLa. I posted a track by her last year I think but here a couple of collaborations from last year. The first with Porridge Radio who I love. Both are about six moths old.

This is another thing from last year during Lockdown. Its interesting to display the amazing talents of Imogen Heap. About 15 years ago I took my late wife to see her play solo upstairs at Newcastle Academy. As I said she played solo but she created all these loops and things as she went on. She does that on here a bit. It remains one of the best concerts I have ever seen. I prefer her early work especially her first album which is amazing and well worth tracking down. Its over half an hour long but please take the time to watch it if you can.

A few tracks posted on Paste from albums due in Feb. First from Sarah Mary Chadwick. Album due Feb 5th its called Me And Ennui Are Friends, Baby.

From Paste
the songwriter can only take a fearless inventory of her interior turmoil, turning a truly harrowing series of events—after the deaths of her father and a close friend, and the dissolution of a long-term relationship, Chadwick attempted to take her own life in 2019, just weeks before the Ennui sessions began—into an album that will knock your heart on its ass.

Posted a couple of tracks from this album already. Both were excellent. Album due Feb 26th.

The third album from Julien Baker is nearly here, and ahead of Little Oblivions (Feb. 26, Matador Records), the singer/songwriter has shared its third single, “Favor,” featuring her boygenius bandmates Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus, and a lyric video created by Sabrina Nichols.

Neil Young - Daughters..................This is from Archives 2. Been collecting Neil Young for 50 years. Hundreds of tapes and bootlegs and I don't think I have heard this song. That said it reminds me of something else but cannot put my finger on it while listening to other tracks.

Right lets get into the proper new releases that Spotify has so kindly chosen

Mush - Hazmat Suits.......................these are an excellent band from Leeds. They sadly lost guitarist Steven Tyson in December. This is really good.

Just posted mid week that I know nothing about him and here he is again. Erimus74 would hate this but as I'm not a huge fan of the original I think its pretty good Sort of how The Kings Of Convienence would have covered when their first album came out..

Christian Lee Hutson - Dancing Queen
