UK indie group The Subways have announced Uncertain Joys, their first album in eight years, which will be out January 12

DEAN HURLEY & GLORIA DE OLIVEIRA - "ALL FLOWERS IN TIME BEND TOWARD THE SUN" (JEFF BUCKLEY / ELIZABETH FRASER COVER)

Dean Hurley, the sound designer who worked on David Lynch's Twin Peaks: The Return, has collaborated with German-Brazilian synth artist Gloria de Oliveira on a new album, Oceans of Time. There is a definite '80s dreampop/new age sound to their collaboration that recalls the goth heyday of 4AD Records, and the first single from the album is a cover of "All Flowers in Time Bend Toward the Sun," a song written by Jeff Buckley and Cocteau Twins' Elizabeth Fraser that was never released but whose demo has been floating around for years.

Last one for now and this may just have stolen the best song of the day. A real grower.

Sour Widows - "Witness"

Well thats it for not. Not the best weeks releases but some good tracks nonetheless. Sour Widows probably pick of the bunch but honourable mentions for Field Medic, Milly, Regressive Left, Muse, Yr Poetry and Tom MacDonald.
No post over the weekend as I am off to see Phoebe Bridgers at Manchester sitting in the worst seat in the world. Really looking forward to that. Train has already been cancelled. Going to Brixton next Friday and have to find a way back on Saturday for match as there is a strike on that day as well.
