Peyton & His Peers - Evan Dando.................not surprisingly this is not on Spotify

I'd like to preface this by saying I'm a huge fan of Evan Dando & The Lemonheads. This song/video is not intended to be mean-spirited. It is both a tribute to his former greatness and a cautionary tale about his lazy, drug-fueled, self-destructive descent.

When I saw Evan in concert a year or two ago, I was mortified by what he had become. He looked like a bum, disheveled and unclean. He had no voice, couldn't keep his guitar in tune (he literally tuned up DURING the song If I Could Talk I'd Tell You), and put on probably the worst (and shortest) show I've ever seen. I just wanted to give him a kick in the ass and say "Come on, dude....you're Evan Dando! Get your act together and stop tarnishing your legacy." Of course, since I don't actually KNOW Evan the only chance I had to get this message across to him was by writing a song.

To be fair, Evan Dando doesn't owe me a damn thing. I'm a nobody (outside of southern Illinois). He can take my advice or leave it. Maybe he's already turned a corner. His online squabbles and erratic behavior seem to have decreased. He has a new single out (which I really like) called Fear of Living. And he's touring again (I considered going to see him in Chicago on New Year's Eve). I sincerely hope he's able to make a comeback and regain some of his former luster. He's a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer in my book
