New Season Tickets on sale for 2024/25

I am not defending a price increase by MFC, personally I think it was wrong, but I notice the 18-21 concession is now available in all parts of the stadium - it was not true in the past. It does help those fans who are students or on apprenticeships or low paid jobs. At MFC just over 50% of ST holders have some sort of price concession. Quite a few adults STs get 23 free drinks too. Thats worth around £115 per season if a ST drinks a pint of Bud. Some might say I need it before a Boro home game nowadays!
Surely our make up of season ticket holders would be the same as other clubs, or are we saying that as a % we have more season ticket holders classed as concessions than other clubs?

I can’t believe these ‘free drinks’ are still a thing. They’ve been around for around a decade or so now I think. They’re most definitely not free. If they were ‘free’ then the club wouldn’t do it, it’s that simple. That they include this token gesture as some sort of badge of goodwill is just confirmation that tickets are too expensive and they have to do something, anything, to try and distract people.

But as I said, if it was truly free then there’s no way they’d be handing them out. They sell absolute pish in the concourses for extortionate prices, any money they ‘lose’ on these ‘free’ beers and drinks is more than made up by vastly overcharging in other areas.

The Mackems are shocked by the prices like.

Or they might just be shocked because they didn't realise football fans actually pay for tickets.

The more financially astute have concluded we’re in financial trouble, of course it’s more likely that their extra fingers makes counting more awkward for them.

The Chairman's drink was brought in as an incentive to get people to renew their season cards when renewals were really on the decline, im surprised it hasn't been done away with in its entirety by now

Pretty depressing announcement today and one of the biggest PR failures the club has made in a long time. There needs to be a follow up and a response from the club.

I worked out that I have probably spent circa £2,000 this season following the Boro and all the associated spend (tickets, transport, hotels). I love it and have been doing it for 27 years. Living away means I miss lots of home games but it’s still important to me to have my seat.

The tone of the email is at best incompetent and at worst it’s arrogant. It assumes compliance, can’t even be bothered to thank fans. No vision. No statement of intent. No attempt to provide a narrative on the cost increases for the club and why some of that needs to be met with price increases.

Then there is the 4 week deadline. Utterly tone deaf and pathetic. It is within the clubs power to make it more accessible for people. The least they can do is extent that deadline. That should be the ask of supporter reps and groups. It’s the one thing that will ease the cash flow pressure that a lot of my friends are upset about. Financially penalising people for not being able to use their Feb pay packet is not progressive.

Finally the response from the supporters forum is incredibly disappointing. It is a representative body of supporters not the clubs PR team. It is meant to be a critical friend of the club and act on behalf of its members. Putting out a statement that essentially says “Gibson came to a meeting and told us why this had to happen” is simply not the representation that fans deserve.

I will still pay it. I’m not happy about it but I will. While I am sure the club can explain why they are increasing prices the deadline, the lack of gratitude for support and the tone of communication all require accountability and addressing. Starting with an apology, a communication to all fans explaining the increase and extending the deadline to mid April.
Absolutely nailed it, not least regarding the supporters forum...another closed shop.

It’s not really £115 though. I often get my free pint if I’m there early enough, but rarely buy one at half time as the queues are ridiculous and the beer isn’t that good. I imagine a pint of lager or beer costs the club less than a quid.

This is absolutely spot on. Having analysed my initial reaction, it is the lack of acknowledgement of our continued commitment that has irked me.
The club seems to think there’s a queue of 20,000 eager to take my place in the North Stand. There’s not MFC. To them (and it feels like us and them), I’m revenue, not a fan.

It’s very poor. A thank you would have been nice and an explanation to soften the blow. But to have absolutely nothing is poor. I’m not happy and the more I think about it the more unhappy I am

Unlikely. Probably nearer £2.

I used to pay just under £100 for an 11 gallon keg of Behaven Best 15 yrs ago (£1.13 per pint) and prices have consistently risen since then.
No doubt the club will buy in bigger quantities than I ever did so will get a better deal, but even Wetherspoons paid about £160 for a 22 gallon keg back then (£0.91).

What was the response from the supporters forum? Is that in relation to this years increases and is it available anywhere to read/see? Cheers.

Would love it if the fans could organise a boycott for Plymouth at home. I'm interested in seeing whatever red faction banner there is at the next game.

No direct debit payment plan as a finance option? The club have no love for us. A lot of us are very rightly livid today. A season ticket renewal up front alongside: rent, council tax, leccy, water, gas etc... not leaving much of someone's payslip left to get by in the month

Be closer to £1
I was buying a keg of moretti , one a week , for £2 last year

I know I’m making this point again but I am genuinely shocked at how **** poor that email is, looking at the back history of the on the other thread it shows how it has changed.

Not even a reference the boro let alone and an UTB.
