NFL playoffs divisional round

I think it’s San Fran’s for the taking purdy is just a wizard. Even when they are poor like the other night he pulls it out of the fire.

Some key injuries though

Chiefs deserved it I think. Crazy call to go for the fake punt and got lucky with the touchback and the fumble.

Good game and Buffalo missing a final FG is a bitter way for the Bills to end (again)

As for next week, I never, ever can root for the Ratbirds, so I hope the Chiefs win (but I don’t think they will)
What do you have against the Ravens?

Kansas City to go all the way now for me.

I hope not really.
I like Mahomes and Reid, but this feels like an inferior Chiefs team to their previous 2 wins.

On the whole, I think it's been a slightly lackluster season; a below-par Chiefs win would really seal that.

I like Detroit's coach and story and I'd like to see them win it,but I don't think they will.

Bothe ravens and 49ers have been more entertaining than the chiefs this year.

Yes I’d love to see the lions do it as I remember watching him on hard knocks a few years ago.

Where do we start?
Back in the day, Art Modell moved the entire organisation to Baltimore and it was only because Cleveland sued him that Cleveland kept the name and history. The settlement was basically that Baltimore would be a new franchise and Cleveland would be reactivated.
The fact that Baltimore went on to win the Super Bowl irks me and other Browns fans.

As a football fan, I can see why that would hurt.

I wonder about the US perception though. Is this sort of mobility not accepted as a part of the franchise system? The link between city and franchise always looks more flimsy than the link between club and town.

Or are sports fans just the same everywhere, and never miss a chance to feel hard done by?

I know Baltimore have a grudge against Indy (my team) for the same reason.

It seems a lot of younger Browns fans have moved on, but the older, longer suffering ones certainly see the Ravens as up there with the Steelers in the bitter rivals charts.
Had the Browns not frozen in Houston then the prospect of facing Baltimore would have set the NFL alight

Basically what dooderooni said. Lost my team for 3 years plus they are now division rivals.

The purple Milton Keynes Dons.

They are probably the best all round team this year and have an excellent chance of winning the Superbowl.

Not really as said above franchise moves are part of us sport history in all sports mainly as the east gave up teams to the west

La dodgers - Brooklyn dodgers
Sf giants - ny giants

So us fans don’t think like we do

MK are the exception to the norm.

Look at the raiders and where they call home is it la is Oakland ???

Chargers LA or San Diego

The list goes on.

That’s more than fair enough. I have a soft spot for the poor northern cities, such as Detroit and Baltimore that suffer real deprivation. I support the Eagles as I’ve been to The Linc about 15 times as an old client was a fanatic. I don’t actively dislike any other NFL team, apart from the Cowboys of course, but that’s due to their sense of entitlement, not because they are the Eagles’ loathed rivals.

America’s team and the pats for me although given how awful they now are it’s a little less with Tom and bill but I still can’t stand New England

MK Dons is worse imho. Baltimore at least had a history of having a team.

I imagine some in Baltimore felt that, if it was ok for them to lose a team like that 12 years earlier, it was ok for them to acquire one the same way.

Part of me wonders how long until Newcastle's owners suggest playing 2-3 home games in Saudi each season. The FA would object of course, at least until PIF counted out enough money.

Of course MK Dons is worse and agree there is a history of franchises moving in US Sports.

But when it happens to your team it stings. Having supported a team for a long time and then lose them is hard to take. Art Modell, the owner at the time, is still a reviled figure in Cleveland.

People have many different reasons for disliking teams in any sport. Just how being a fan of 1 team works imo.

I can’t really see beyond the 49ers now, The Packers gave them a good run for their money but The 49ers have talent everywhere. I can’t see The Lions beating them, although Goff is playing well but appart from Ammon Ra St Brown nobody else really stands out.

I think that’s a little harsh on Detroit. I don’t expect them to bear the niners. Especially outside in San Francisco but to say only St Brown stands out when they have Gibbs, La Porta, Montgomery, Sewell, Hutchinson etc

That’s true, but when you start listing Kittle, Mcaffrey, Bosa etc they’re all going to have to be on it to stand a chance.

Niners had 20 days off before the Packers game and while it gets everyone reasonably healthy it can compromise the team from a cohesive standpoint. From where I was standing the Niners didn’t really get into the game until late in the 3rd quarter, and while this was maybe down to the Packers game plan or maybe the weather the fact is they won without really playing that well.

The Lions are a formidable team — they’ve proved that by beating several top teams thiis season including the Rams, Packers and the Bucs whom they beat twice.

The Niners however have a top defense who will bail out the offense when they need to— we saw this v Packers.

While I think the Lions will offer a very stiff opponent I just don’t think Lions QB Jared Goff has the mobility to outrun the Niners defense.

I’m sure this will be another close run thing for the Niners but it’s all about figuring out a way to win and even without Deebo the Niners home field advantage should give them the edge.
