Our formation change got us back into the game as well as personnel change
Can’t keep playing five at the back

Some players aren't listening? They were all dreadful first half. Nothing to do with with the players picked or the formation. Or you being right and "loads of fans" being wrong. Some of players clearly aren’t listening, and it’s dragging the rest down, it’s like some of them only no lumping it forward. When we do this it completely undermines the entire setup/ game plan of the team.
As soon as we brought the footballers on, we largely stopped launching it and it’s been night and day,
McNair, fry, Roberts out, maybe Clarke too, mcgree in midfield for mowatt and two forwards up top, stop the cause of most of the problems (giving them the ball), and give us a better chance of scoring.
This is practically what I said in the first half, look at the difference.
Loads of the fans wanted McNair RB, fry CB and were even talking of roberts being ahead of steffen, today is a good example of why it won’t work. We’ve been lucky in a couple of the games we’ve started that way (Sunderland and Swansea). We had to play that way against Watford, as they’re better than us.
You posted that he should be dropped and he set DW up for the first goal.He does but he doesn’t beat the first man with any cross.

They come out tippytoeing around. Missing easy passes. Every time we passed it from one defender to another they looked shocked they were being passed the ball. This team has got no bottle. We continue every game to just stop playing for at least 20 minutes. Usually 45. Doesn't matter who is playing. Or how unlucky we are. Or the refs being *****. Or how much better our xg is. Players need to show some belief and some mettle.
We still played 5 at the back? As far as I could see anyway, looked like 5 at the back with Crooks and Howson holding and McGree at 10.Our formation change got us back into the game as well as personnel change

In a nut shell. At least the 2nd half was positive, we have to play 2 up top from now on and McNair cannot be in the back 3, no idea what has happened to him but he has been awful this season both defensively and on the ball. Towards the end of the 1st half Clarke and McNair were just lumping it forward, it's completely pointless, we don't have the players for it. Dijksteel might fall asleep at times like he did at Stoke but at least we can play out from the back with him and he has a bit of pace so that teams can't just constantly play balls in behind us.
I'd play Bola on the left as well but could understand if he wanted to go with Clarke again, Dijksteel has to play though. McGree might be a bit weak defensively but he is quality on the ball, he has to play instead of Mowatt who seems to be giving us absolutely nothing.
It was mostly the half time changes I think and there wasn't a formation change at that point. When bola came on it was really a last throw of the dice and wilder wouldn't start with that formation. Our formation change got us back into the game as well as personnel change

I think that just shows you what a mess this transfer window has been that Watmore is still our 2nd best striker.I’ve got to say Dijksteel and Bola are better than the two fellas who have come in to replace them and despite buying three forward’s Watmore’s still our most effective. Not much needed changing from last season, but once again we’ve fallen into the trap of bringing in players no better than we had before!
it was, but the last 2 or 3 have been concerningAwful.
But there’s still a large majority on here who’ll say the performances are good and we’re on the right track.
I’m 200% certain he’s not telling them to launch it, that back 3 and keeper just keep trying to dig holes, it’s like they’re scared of making mistakes so leather it, rather than playing it out. But leathering it will be a mistake 9/10, unless were genuinely backs to the wall (like away at good sides). Why is Wilder getting it so wrong though? Again it doesn’t matter what the fans want they don’t pick the team.
Someone highlighted earlier out of 9 games this season we have been 3-0 down at HT in 3 of them! That’s an awful statistic.
What I don’t understand is why he isn’t flexible enough to change it earlier - it was obviously not working after twenty minutes - why wait until we are three down and half time. The manager has to take a lot of the blame for that tonight!Better second half and clearly the players were playing for wilder. His team selection invited the first half score line. We were so bad in that first 45,the worst I can recall

I would agree with this. Get back to the formation from the start of the season and get a bit of pace in the team. I think Jones misses Dijksteele too.Dijksteel should be first name on that team sheet, we need some pace at the back, we need a CB that is comfortable pushing forward.
McGree isn't a 10, too inconsistent in that role, we lack a midfielder who can push on and create something.....solve both those problems by dropping Mowatt and playing McGree in his proper role
Keeper, get Steffen back in when fit
Howson and Clarke on final warnings, buck up or bench, Bola and Luongo are waiting for their turn.
Oh and two strikers Watmore or Forss alongside Muniz
