Just heard the sad news indeed not many sides can lay claim To one of Alf’s men and one as influential as nobby.

He lost a contact lens when playing at Middlesbrough. Asked someone to go onto the pitch at half time to find it, they said "where should I look?" Another player quipped something like "the centre circle as he never leaves it". The search party went out & found it in the centre circle. Cleaned replaced & he played on in the second half.

I was just thinking, the average life expectancy of that squad isn't very high is it? Only 4 still alive, in their early 80s.
