Hi Sportsfans welcome to my Notebook, incredibly we are into our third season 
A very disappointing start for Boro and especially as I was queueing outside for the first 10 minutes of the game...
Boro started without 6 of the main men from last season, so I guess it was always going to be a struggle against a very well organized Millwall side.
A few of their players stood out in particular the giant 6'6 centre back No.5 Jake Cooper who snuffed out everything we threw at him. Duncan Watmore was his usual busy self and caused havoc down the left in the first half while I liked the look of new signing from Belgium No. 24 Casper De Norte. He looked great on the ball but faded in the second half and was replaced. No 10 Flemming looked dangerous without really influencing the game.
With Coulson subbed and McGree on walkabout, guess who popped up with the winner on the right hand side ??
Of course it was only my Notebook Choice from last season No. 25 Romain Esse and what a finish....
He stays in the Notebook for this season only 18 years old and a fantastic prospect from the Millwall academy
Another good day for Notebook entries Siriki Dembele and Jerry Yates who both scored on their debuts in the Swansea v Birmingham game. Both were available in the close season and would have been great acquisitions for Boro. Shayne Lavery also scored a brace for Blackpool....as James Arthur would say....
