Nobby's Notebook - Swansea City πŸ‘πŸ“–βœοΈ

Hi Sportsfans, I think that was the worst 2-0 home win I have ever been to 🀣

In game that was more like a pre season friendly, it wasn't until well into the second half when the first booking came.

It was quite surreal until my new song about Latte Lath took hold and the South stand woke up a bit πŸ‘

Onto Swansea, and they have some really good technical players who can retain possession. According to my calculations they had 60% of it πŸ‘

No.35 Ronald looked to run riot in the first 20 minutes, catching Luke Thomas off guard with his pace and trickery. Thomas recovered really well after that, the right winger faded and was hooked on 78'

No.23 Nathan Wood was excellent in possession. If you want to play out from the back like Man City then Wood is the guy you want. He was often receiving the ball in tight situations but did remarkably well. He often had no options to hit as his 2 central midfielders were sat too deep. He carried the ball out of defence himself a few times to start attacks.

No.10 Jamal Lowe on loan from Bournemouth was another technician who took up some good positions in pockets of space. However his team mates seemed unable to pass between the lines to find him. He was the only player who looked like making something happen up top for Swansea.

No.47 Azeem Abdulai came on in the 29th minute for injured Tymon and looked another player comfortable on the ball. He's only 21 and could easily have made it into the Notebook, I was impressed πŸ‘

However my choice this week was No 2 Josh Key at right back. Linked up well with Ronald and was always looking to get on the front foot. Carried the ball forward at pace with every opportunity.

Key, Age 24 started his career at Torquay playing 129 games before moving to the Swans on a 3 year deal in 2023.

He reminded me very much of another player from the West country, George Friend with his marauding runs and positive attitude and that's why he's in the famous Notebook guys πŸ‘πŸ“–βœοΈ

Good summary Nobby. I'm surprised you didn't go for Nathan Wood out of devilment.
Thanks Gordy πŸ‘
I noticed posters saying Wood was poor on another thread, but not in my eyes, I got a good look at him and like I said in my report he was excellent with the ball often under great pressure. He will be snapped up and be plying his trade in the Premier League before long, the lads still only 21 πŸ‘πŸ“–βœοΈ

Southampton are interested, mentioned this lad to Franny Benali πŸ‘

It's all about opinions obviously but the Swansea fans seem to disagree with you mate.

And just to clarify, the marks are out of 10.
