Nopps Car Park

I always pay and park in the Nopps Car park. My friend came from London for the game and I told him to park there.
On returning his back window was smashed because he had a Box of books on the back seat. Nothing was taken but had quote to fix the window of £650.
Is it that bad now parking in that part of town.
Ps I've parked there for many years!
Any help appreciated.

We walked past as he was picking the glass out of the frame.
All I could think about whoever done it was the scruffy cnuts.
Broad daylight as well

That is very sad to hear.
A possible new occupier to the Ironopolis building could make it a less neglected area.

It was in a paid car park, in broad daylight on a Saturday afternoon in the town centre Rob.
I'm not sure what the occupancy of the Nops club has to do with it.

Sadly the town is a crime ridden area and this isn't a surprise despite how awful it is.

I've been leaving my whole car empty, including leaving the glove box open and boot fully visibly empty for the past 20ish years having had it broken into for small change in Coulby, Netherfields and in the town.

They'll break the windows for pennies and it's not worth the hassle.

I'm very sorry that your mate had to deal with that shyte

Never leave anything on display, the Boro has a lot of desperate souls with nothing. When some of us write about this, we do mean it. Its not a political game for keyboard warriors. The area is very poor, deprived, with many people close to the centre with drug addictions. Its poorer than even the poor parts of London. I still see broken glass on the sides of roads and car parks in the Boro, even though its vanished in a lot of other places.

Match Day is dangerous because the thieves will know where people are when they park within 15 minutes of the stadium slightly away from residential housing. There is also no houses or flats looking onto that car park. Its also on a bit fo a dead end street. Its better sometimes to park bit further away, near houses and obvious football parking, but again don't leave anything that could be seen to be of value. They maybe thought the box could contain a laptop. When you have parked there, have you left things on display?

There was more risk to the thieves when people could see them through the windows of the Club that looked onto the Car Park. The Car park is unmanned and only really used by football supporters, and its in an area that is quiet when the game is on.

The windows have iron bars on them and visibility is blocked by vehicles parked right up to the wall. Not buying the 'desperate people with nothing' excuse. They're criminals and scruffy cnuts.

It really is a soul destroying feeling, returning to your car to find a window smashed and access gained, in order to steal something. Back in the early 90’s I parked on the rd at the back of the Dorman Museum by the park, to go to the match at Ayresome, I as with my young son too and had a similar experience (It felt really safe too). My lad was really upset by it at the time. Utter scum, your friend has my empathy, of course the Police will offer a crime number and nothing else.

same coluka took one of my exs to central park we hadnt been together long. She was a mobile hairdresser parked in around the same area had a lovely meal/evening to come back to the car to discover all her mobile hairdressing stuff gone from the car.

Just a box of scissors and some tools but her livelyhood at the end of the day absolutely of no value to the $cum that broke in and took it, they'll have been disappointing with their twok. Think i ended up taking her to sallys and replacing what I could as i was the one left feeling guilty!

Scumbags have been around for donkeys years and will be in the future....
I go back about 40 yes ago ,parked on Ayersome park road attending a night match with me dad....came out after the match and someone had slashed mine and another 3 cars "both" offside tyres....no broken windows,no attempt at theft, just scumbags doing what scumbags do.....trouble is it's very rare to catch the tvvats.

I think what Rob means is that more footfall around the area the less opportunities for whoever did the damage. More chance of being seen .

There are some thieving opportunists about, unfortunately.. though that car park always has lots of shattered glass on the ground, which is always an indication of risk to be avoided..

I live like a 2 sec walk from the car park. I noticed the broken glass on Sunday. The car park is full every week day and to be honest I can't remember the last time I saw a car that had been broken into or evidence of it.

I walk past there a fair bit & I'm always noticing shattered glass in there. Never noticed a broken window or car, though lots of evidence there has been.
