He was a pretty famous running back for the Buffalo Bills but I don't think many people over here followed American Football in the 70s!

Probably saw that Trump was about to become the most famous criminal in American history and thought it was time to relinquish the title. The fact that he was almost doing it in blackface must have been the deciding factor.

A massive reason he got acquitted was due to the jury being 3/4 black. This happened a short time after the LA riots and the trials of the officers involved. This period was probably the most racially inflamed time in the history of LA. At any other period in the citys history you would think he would have been convicted.

Fun fact - the reason the gloves didn't fit during the trial is due to him stopping taking his arthritis medication, which made his hands swell up

Absolutely scintillating! I wasn't even aware of him before this - thanks for posting. I love this kind of edgy risk-taking - you can hear the gasps and even boos in the audience; and it all needed saying. Also, and importantly, SERIOUSLY funny.
