One thread per player

I don't know how viable this is but when I was looking at Villa's forum to see what they were saying about Ramsey/Archer I noticed they basically have one large thread for each player.

Which is a lot neater and easier to follow than multiple threads all the time. Could we try something similar here? Appreciate this might not bother anyone else. :ROFLMAO:

Just posts about stuff that was interesting would be good. Three posts about the same player could be good if they each have something different to say.
Yeah true and that’s happened plenty of times on here but do think one thread per player works and to have them all we sticky’s

Many other boards have something similar.

What we have works, new threads about the same player can highlight a thought or opinion a lot more easily than one long continuous thread with everything thrown in. I have seen that Villa forum before and it makes for half an hour that you never get back trawling through some of those threads.

It would be brilliant to see, especially so we could see how people’s opinions of players have changed over time.

There was a spell under Warnock when the majority of the board loved McNair and hated Chuba 😂

I'd personally prefer it, I often don't post little titbits I see because I can't be bothered starting a thread just for it and there are no recent relevant threads which I could put it in.

It would probably require a more hands on moderation though.
There are a lot of duplicate threads on this board as is.

A sticky transfer thread would be good, if nothing else.

Unmarked threads for less popular players then trawling through loads of tripe about a popular one.. sounds good.. but won’t achieve what you think it will.

When we get into the champions league after our top 4 finish, I advocate one post each for topics like, do they have an Irish bar and will they have cash points…

Agree with this one, perhaps a brexit one and in addition a local ( Teesside/ Tees Valley) politics thread, those are three things at certain times of year can overwhelm the 1st page

The biggest drawback of this forum is multiple threads on the same subject.

Is it though ?

What happens if one person wants to post about Hackney's positional awareness, one wants to post about how luxurious his hair is, and another wants to post about his boot deal - does it make sense to have them all on the same page, with about 6 different conversations going on in parallel ?

This board has been running fairly successfully for over 20 years, why do people keep trying to "improve it". This discussion must have been had at least 40 times over the years.

It's not going to suit everyone of course, but I think thr majority of posters would prefer not to have multiple threads on the same subject, as it tends to dilute the debate, rather than amplify it in one place.

Common examples are things like the team boro announcement, general news items that have just broken.

But it's much better than it was, with more posters retrieving pre-existing threads and a single match day thread (thanks to r00fie1).

Anything can be improved, if only a little.
