This operation has always fascinated me as it really was an ingenious idea and a really clever plan.

I’ve read a lot about it and watched the documentary about the real event so I’m looking forward to the new film operation mincemeat.

I just hope they do the real story justice.

Btw if you don’t know about real story begins the film then it it’s an amazing story and well worth checking out.

Major Martin's was buried in Huelva by the Spaniards with full military honours. In 1997 the Commonwealth War Commission added the postscript "Glyndwr Michael served as Major William Martin RM."

Yes I’d seen he was buried with full military honours. Amazing how a man who thought he was nothing in life played a key role in helping to win the war.
