Good effort. It doesn't leave that many we haven't played against.

Hartlepool - Although we did play a league game there!

Weird how we've been so close to Leeds in the league, yet didn't play them once in any cups over the same period. I think the last cup tie was a 2-0 defeat in March 1963.

I would've guessed them. I think we have the best record or most wins against them don't we?

Can't remember if that's all time or Riverside era etc though.

It's great because my mate is a derby fan and he hates Boro (even before the Mel Morris shenanigans).

Yes Leeds is a good shout. The mackams are pretty common too. And Millwall are a bunch of inbreds.
Least common is probably arsenal. They sell sushi at the Emirates rather than pies.

I have created another list - this time of how many seasons we have been in the same division as every other club over the last 50 years.
So in effect, teams we have played the most league games against.
It was just to show who our regular competition is and whether it tallied with my own perception.
Only 5 teams have been in the same division as us for more than half of that time, with the most regular one being with us for 32 out of the 50 seasons.
Any guesses who? (Before I post the list).
I’ll guess at Leeds?

My guess was before reading the list, honest guv. I thought as Leeds came down with us in 82 and went up in 90, while we spent most of 70s and 90s 00s in the top flight. They were also in the second tier with us for most of the last 15 years. Pleasantly surprised how high up the big boys are!

Of all time I think Sunderland would be close, remember 82 I think 100th game
134 in total against Sunderland.

That's because of our 24 yrs in the top division.
I was surprised Reading were so high.

That's great but you also need to show W L D for each team too, in a powerpoint, emailed to the me and the rest of the board by 5pm BST.
