Actually, they're not doing too bad - especially if we get north of £10M for Rogers

a lot of projects involved too. some are going to take time.

i can't wait to see how silvera, engel, bangura look in 6-12 months time given what we have seen of the others. likely 1-2 will hit and the other will be a miss.

the likes of dieng, to an extent glover (not much game time), Rav V look very good and seem to have settled quick. rogers is showing signs but looks like he may go next week. latte lath hasn't really had a good run without being injured so too early to judge.

didn't realise greenwood is only 21. again it would be interesting to see what carrick can do with him if we sign him as there is something there, maybe a bit immature in his approach at the moment but we shall see if he comes in permanent.

They are doing very well, but also I think don't underestimate the impact of having everyone on the same page either.

It's looking effective because the people above them (Scott, Bausor, Gibson) are all behind it and because Carrick and his coaching staff are all on board with it.

As we saw with Warnock and Wilder, if that's not in place it looks poor. Not necessarily because the signings are bad, but because the manager won't use them, or doesn't have the patience to develop them.

When the sad day comes that Carrick moves on, it's really important his successor genuinely buys into it.

(and not just say they're "all in" while printing off multiple copies of their CV).

Kieran Scott was one of the best signings we have made .He came in and gave the place a deep clean,we needed someone upstairs with a football brain.

Although Aaron Danks isn't part of the recruitment team, he seems to have a fair few links with the young players we have signed and seems to know or worked with every player under 23yo 😂. I'm not saying he is the one who recommends the signings but having somebody at the club who has worked with some of these young lads must be handy to get a measurement of the players mentality.

The mentality of signings , whether loans or permanent appears to have vastly improved over the last 18 months.
They all seem like likeable young men / men who are trying hard and taking the job seriously.

Doesn't seem to be much balloon sucking / pally fanni bollox / 'keeps bad company ' / ' bad for the dressing room ' big time charlie stuff that you've heard about for years

Our recruitment has certainly been better than it was post karanka. However we made some superb signings under mowbray and karanka that actually got us promoted. I don't really think it's the sea change people sometimes paint it as. We just aren't being massively F***ing stupid like we were under monk/pulis.

15 players in, genuinely don’t think the squad is better and don’t see us about to embark on any sort of repeat of last seasons promotion charge.
We are a mid table Championship squad.
Obviously Dieng, Rogers, VdB are good recruits but are not more than what we have lost.
The forward and full back recruits have been really disappointing overall.

We don’t score top 6 goals, we don’t concede top 6 goals. We have a poor GD that totally reflects our league position.
I will be sad if Carrick and or Danks leave.
No worries at all when Scott goes.

How many games has O'Brien started? 2 or 3?

Greenwood has scored some useful league goals and assists - curate's egg for me

Glover was brought in as a clear number 2 or 3 Keeper. Most seasons he would have played in Cup games only.

Silvera tries hard but does look too lightweight and certainly just a cover player.

I think we all have to accept if we purchase oppose to loan Premier League squad players, we are not going to get the same quality, certainly in the short term. But in the medium term we can earn money from buying cheap and selling for more, examples Djed Spence and Chuba Akpom.

In his limited appearances O'Brien has looked like a consummate pro , and a man above boys .
I'd risk it for a biscuit on him .
He SHOULD be our new Howson / Grant
